Welcome to Breezy Meadows Orchards and Nursery. We are a new diversified farm located in the wilds of Tinmouth, Vermont. This is our fourth year growing vegetables and our third year growing up on the hill in our new location. We currently have a stand at the Rutland Winters Farmers Market and are offering a summer CSA.
At Breezy Meadows Orchards and Nursery, we are basing our agricultural systems with permacultural practices in mind going beyond standard organic practices. Our farming systems are designed to work with natural systems and benefit not only us as growers but be a benefit to our surrounding ecosystems. The benchmarks we set for ourselves are not only those tied to how many pounds of food we can produce but by how many inches of soil we help create and by an increase in biodiversity found on our land. In the Our Farm section of the site you will find information on the history of our location and the techniques we are using on the farm.
We also have a blog where Meadow and I will be posting the happenings on the farm. Experiments are always happening at Breezy Meadows Orchards and Nursery and I will be posting on all my successes and failures. Meadow will be posting her adventures of cooking yummy recipes using the veggies and fruits we will be growing as well as fun gardening activities for kids of all ages. And of course we will be posting all the tasty treats we will be bringing to the market. We cannot wait to hear your comments about what we are doing and what you folks are doing in your backyards, gardens and kitchens.
