What is a CSA and why should you want to join?
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. CSA’s are a model of direct sales that benefit the farmer and the consumer. The name “Community Supported Agriculture” means that you aren’t just paying up front for your farm products, it means that you are investing in your local farmer. By buying into the farm early in the season you are helping to buy the seeds and equipment necessary for the coming season. Once the season begins you get to reap the benefits of being a member of the farm and share in the bounty of what it can produce. This relationship between, consumer, farm, and farmer is what a CSA hopes to create, one where everyone knows who is growing their food, who is eating their food, and how their food was grown.
A Full Breezy Meadows CSA Share will provide a weekly assortment of mixed vegetables, eggs, and fresh goat cheese. You also will be the first to try our freshly harvested rice in the fall! There will always be some flexibility in what is in your share, fewer eggs more vegetables etc. We will do our best to shape your weekly box to fit your needs.
